THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATION and FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY

Thank You For Your Generous Donation and Making A Difference In Our Community!

The LFCIA SoCal Community Outreach Team hosted a Thanksgiving Food Drive November 9 – 12th.  In collaboration with Families Forward, a local non-profit organization committed to helping local Orange County homeless families or families at risk of becoming homeless, we collected an overflowing bin of Thanksgiving meal necessities!

Thank you to our club members and families for your commitment and contribution to our community! Within just a few days of collecting, together we were able to provide essentials to help our neighbors in need enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving meal!

We could not accomplish this without your support, involvement and generosity. Thank you for helping and living “The Liverpool Way” through ambition, commitment, dignity and unity.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday!

And the Coach of the Month Winners for October are……

And the Coach of the Month Winners for October are……

Girls Coach: Sami Alarcon

Boys Coach: Francis Davin

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH!

Here are a couple examples of the nominations we received for Coach Sami and Coach Francis:

“My daughter is always excited to go to practice, even when she’s tired after sitting on zoom calls each day, and she’s most excited to see Coach Sami. Sami is always upbeat, consistent and cheerful with the kids while also instilling a dedication to the team and one another. She shows the girls how to focus and try their best by setting the example in her own conduct during practice. She personally touched our family recently because we had a loss of a close relative within our family that deeply saddened us and my children. My daughter was not herself when going to practice a few days afterwards; a personal change that Coach Sami noticed immediately and reached out to us to offer her support to our family. It meant so much that while Sami has many children she works with; she knows their little personalities and can tell when something is “off”. I feel like our daughter has a coach that truly cares about her not just as a player, but as a person. For these reasons, we humbly nominate Sami for Coach of the Month!”

“We are submitting this nomination on behalf of our entire team, however, I can speak to the impact our coach has had on my son, Harris. Coach Francis knows how to motivate him to work hard to constantly improve his skills. Sometimes Harris gets frustrated and wants to give up when he doesn’t master a skill quickly, but Francis has really helped him to understand that failure and mistakes are part of the growth process and to never give up. He’s taught him to set a goal and work hard to reach it, commit to the task, to the team, and to yourself. These are valuable lessons, both on and off the pitch!”

“Coach Francis always encourages my son to take risks and learn from his honest mistakes. He gives positive feedback which motivates my son to always give his best effort. In addition, he treats everyone very well, on and off the field.”

THANK YOU to those that took the time to nominate your coach and share examples of how each of them are exemplifying our Core Values, and exceeding the high standards set forth by LFC!

An Opportunity For Our LFCIA SoCal Family To Show Appreciation And Care

An Opportunity For Our LFCIA SoCal Family To Show Appreciation And Care

photo credit: OC Firefighters Local 3631

The Silverado and Blue Ridge wildfires in Irvine and Yorba Linda caused thousands of our community members to evacuate. The latest report is that although 98% contained, the Silverado fire burned 12,466 acres while the Blue Ridge fire burned 13,964 acres. We are extremely appreciative of our local fire crews that worked relentlessly to keep our loved ones safe, and we are saddened that two were seriously injured and remain in critical condition after suffering second- and third-degree burns.

On behalf of our entire LFCIA SoCal family, we have donated to a fund that was set up to assist with the cost of their care.  We also invite you, our membership, to send cards of well wishes to the two firefighters and their families.  If you’d like to do so, please mail your card to this address:

Madison Wheeler Appointed West Technical Director

Madison Wheeler Appointed West Technical Director

Maddy is excited to bring her passion for soccer and experience teaching youth to the west!

Madison Wheeler recently joined Liverpool FC IA and was appointed the West Technical Director. She brings with her many years of experience from being a player within the club circuit in Orange County, as well as leadership and coaching experience gained by being involved with other soccer organizations over the last 5+ years. In her new role, Madison will be responsible for overseeing the competitive and recreational programs in Cypress, Los Alamitos and surrounding communities.

LFCIA SoCal’s CEO, Tim Woodcock, was Maddy’s first club soccer coach when she was just 9 years old! “I am really excited to bring Maddy onboard,” said Tim. “I coached her when she was a young player and she always had a great personality. She has the skill set of a coach/teacher plus the knowledge and experience of a program director that will elevate our organization to great heights. I can’t wait to see her grow the Cypress / Los Alamitos Community Development Center and transform that community with the Liverpool Way!”

Madison has hit the ground running, currently working hard on gaining traction in the community by providing a variety of excellent programs for kids of all ages and skill levels. Between Mini Reds, Junior Reds, PCA, Club programs, Camps and Clinics, she is confident there is a spot for every player in her area!  When the time is right, she plans to support her community schools by offering to help with their events and provide After School Camps as well.

When asked what she enjoys most about working for LFCIA SoCal so far, Madison replied, “I admire and respect that what they are building is more than a club; it’s a culture and family built upon the core values; unity, ambition, dignity and commitment. It feels great to be a part of the family! I have met so many people in a short time, and everyone from the staff to players and parents have been so welcoming and excited about this club and its future.”

Congratulations Maddy, and thank you for your commitment to making a positive impact on the players, and your LFCIA West community!

Girls Coach: Sophia Tostado

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH!

Here are a couple examples of the nominations we received for Coach Sophia and Coach James:

“Sophia continues to push the girls on our team to a new level. She’s encouraging, and positive, all while having high expectations. She is committed to helping each girl achieve their absolute best. She works with each individual to improve their skill set, yet continues the balance of a team environment. Each girl wants to work hard, and has the drive to continuously improve, all because of Sophia’s commitment to their team.

For each practice he picks one player to be the MVP of the practice and shares the picture and comments on the player’s performance. This motivates my son to have the ambition to achieve his best in each practice.” “He has worked hard to train our boys, offered fair feedback, encouraged them to push hard, and always ensures they are having fun.”
